Anime of the WeeK: Full Metal Alchemist

It isn't surprising that this anime is the anime of the week. I don't profess to be some anime otaku BUT this is like one of my favourite animes to date. I remember stumbling across it when Anime Central was on TV (yes, here in England) but it was always out of sequence, so I decided to find it online.

I was familiar with stories about the Philosopher's Stone before BUT that was Harry Potter and I recollect some series of novels called the Deptford Mice - The Alchemists Cat. I guess I D.I.G.R.E.S.S. back to FMA!!!

This storyline focuses around the Philosopher's stone and alchemy and the main characters are the Elric brothers Edward and Alphonse who due to what I would say was driven by curiosity, grief and their brilliance in alchemy attempted a forbidden procedure. They attempted to bring their dead mother back to life and in so doing they had to pay a very HIGH Price.

I don't wish to spoil this anime for anyone so all i can say is if you haven't watched this anime. YOU MUST watch it and trust me you'll fly through these 51 episodes in no time. What unravels in this anime is a brilliant complex story with great action sequences, a nice pace, memorable characters and definitely intrigue and suspense, which together makes an awesome anime worthy of tears. Yes, I cannot lie I totally cried when this anime ended but I'm a sensitive soul^.^

Watch it now.....because FMA 2 is due to be aired on 4 April this year. I have high expectations as this is one of my favourites and they better not RUIN it with an inferior sequel.
