Paprika - Awesome Anime Movie

This anime is fairly new in that it was released in 2006 and was directed by Satoshi Kon. It is such an amazing anime and different in that most of the animes I've seen to date are adaptations from the Manga. BUT----Paprika is an anime adaptation of a novel of the same title by Yasutaki TsuTsui in 1993.

Ok OK enough of the history already....is this anime worth watching. Yes of course!!!!! I think this anime is personally a masterpiece and I guess this is because I'm quite fond of Science Fiction and fantasy and just plain old BRILLIANT ideas. This story is great because it uses one of my most favourite things in life and that is DREAMS. If you can successfully use dreams in a story than I reckon it's bound to be successful.

This anime is like stepping into and out of someone's dream. The whole story itself focuses around a new technology which allows psychotherapists to help diagnose and hopefully heal people's pyschological problems by entering their dreams. Dr Tokita is a somewhat overweight genius who is like a child and he manages to create the device that allows you to enter people's dreams.

The renowned scientist, Dr. Atsuko Chiba enters the dream world under her spicy alter-ego - PAPRIKA much against the Chairman's wishes she has been using this technology to help patients when the technology itself is still in it's infancy. The problem occurs when this technology becomes used to fulfil a deluded dream of someone who wants to merge the real world and the dream world together. As you watch this story unfold to discover who is behind this CRAZY idea to change the world, you'll be amazed by the brilliant animation and the beauty of watching this story like looking into the mind of someone while they Sleep.

Absolutely brilliant----don't believe me...hmmmm....check out the trailer and judge for yourself!!!!
