Lighthearted Fun - Spice & Wolf

This anime was recommended to me by a member of our facebook group and i had no idea what this was going to be about and i must admit the title doesn't give much indication about what to expect. I mean what the hell does SPICE have to do with a wolf---hmmmmm---i wasn't sure if the wolf was meant to be cooking or what!!! Anyways, I went on google and wikipedia more or less gave a summary of what this anime is about. The opening song is such a lovely song and sets a nice tone to the anime.

The story itself focuses about the relationship between Horo (wolf deity) and Kraft Lawrence. This unlikely duo become travelling companions when Horo decides that she has fulfilled her promise to the villagers by helping in producing a bountiful harvest. Due to the dying belief in what can only be described as paganism and the early signs of Christianity forming in society---people aren't worshipping Horo like they used to and she decides that she wants to return home.

Opening Song - "Tabi no Tochū (旅の途中)" by Natsumi Kiyoura

Along comes Lawrence the merchant who has a cart and this marks a way out for Horo. What follows is a journey heading North and the forming of an attraction between the two. This anime doesn't have a complex storyline but it does put a smile on your face, as it's just pleasant to watch. If you have an interest in life before technology and wondered how people did business in the medieval times this anime might be of interest to you. But just because it's set in this time period it is anything but BORING----no no it's full of jest and merriment and of course the adorable wolf, Horo is definitely pretty to look at---even with a big Bushy Tail (ZOMG---does that sound dirty!!!).

If you like nice and short anime than i recommend Spice and Wolf with it's 13 episodes of lighthearted fun. Also, for anyone who has a little fetish for pretty girl anime characters with animal like ears and tails..HAHAHA!!! I'll leave you with the cutest anime ending song ---i totally love this song----I LOOK AT THE WORLD THROUGH APPLE EYES AND CUT MYSELF A SUNSHINE PIE---isn't that like the cutest thing you ever heard!!!!

Ending Song - "Ringo Biyori ~The Wolf Whistling Song" by Rocky Chack

I hear they're going to be airing a second series of this anime soon!!!!!
